Centre Shane Geraghty has been ruled out of the rest of England's RBS 6 Nations campaign and Gloucester's Olly Barkley has been called up as his replacement.
Geraghty broke a bone in his hand playing for his club side London Irish against Wasps on Sunday. Barkley takes his place ahead of the clash with France on Sunday.
Geraghty made his full England debut in the equivalent fixture two years ago, coming on as a half-time substitute to set up the hosts’ match-winning try.
He has only played a peripheral role in this year’s competition, his one appearance coming in England’s opening victory over Italy at Twickenham.
