Scott MacLeod insists a recall to the Scotland squad for the RBS 6 Nations is not on his mind.
The former Borders lock was outstanding in the 2008 RBS 6 Nations and looked set for a long run in the side.
But a stop-start season for his club Llanelli Scarlets saw MacLeod fail to make Frank Hadden's initial pool for the championship.
That helped convince him to make the move to Edinburgh to improve his Test chances and MacLeod made his debut for his new club against Munster on Saturday.
But despite Scotland facing a second-row crisis, MacLeod is not touting his claims for a recall for this weekend's RBS 6 Nations clash with Italy.
He said: “I have been working hard at my fitness and it is encouraging to see the hard work is starting to show.
“I’m not really thinking about Scotland at the moment; I’m just focusing on doing well for Edinburgh and helping the squad as much as I can.
“My priority is playing for Edinburgh and hopefully I will be involved against the Scarlets in March.”
