Kidney fires France warning

Ireland coach Declan Kidney has told his players that they will need to be on top of their game to overcome France in their opening RBS 6 Nations match.

Ireland face France on February 7 in the opening game of their campaign.

France are something of an unknown quantity heading into the Six Nations but Kidney has no doubt they will be formidable opponents.

He said: "France can bring so much to their game and are incredibly dangerous in this tournament.

"The players will set the foundations for the tournament during their first week of training.

"After that, the only focus we will have will be on our opening game against France."
