Mustchin misses RBS 6 Nations
15 January 2009, 11:51 am
By Catherine Goble
Scotland coach Frank Hadden suffered another injury blow when utility forward Matt Mustchin was ruled out of the RBS 6 Nations.
The New Zealand-born forward, who can play at either lock or on the blindside of the scrum, requires knee surgery and will miss the entire tournament.

Mustchin made his Scotland debut on the summer tour to Argentina last year and has been an important member of the Edinburgh team for the past 18 months.

His absence reduces Hadden's lock options although he still has first-choice pairing Jim Hamilton and Nathan Hines ready for action with some able deputies to call on.

These may include Jason White and Simon Taylor, who are both back-rowers by trade, but can play in the engine room if required.
