Former Scotland captain Jason White admits he is tremendously excited at the prospect of a new life in France next season.
White will end a successful spell with Sale Sharks at the end of this season – a club he captained with distinction - and take up a position with Clermont Auvergne next term.
He will join fellow Scotland stars Nathan Hines, Chris Cusiter, Simon Taylor and Scott Murray in plying their trade across the Channel.
White said: "I have been very impressed with the organisation, structure, the team and the ambitions of the club.
"Clermont are one of the best clubs in Europe and I think that during my time here I will have the chance to win many titles.
"I've always wanted to play in France and the prospect of discovering a new culture and a new language is extremely stimulating."
