Former All Blacks star Mark Robinson has backed Scotland winger Sean Lamont to force his way into this year's Lions squad.
Robinson played with Lamont at Northampton prior to the scrum-half moving to Wasps during last summer.
And he believes Lamont can be one of the wingers named as part of Ian McGeechan's squad for the eagerly-awaited trip to South Africa.
Lamont will be up against the likes of Paul Sackey, Rob Kearney, Shane Williams, Mark Jones and Shane Horgan for a place on the plane.
Robinson told RBS6Nations.com: "There are a lot of good wingers about because it's an area where British and Irish teams are strong.
"But if Sean scores a lot of tries in the upcoming RBS 6 Nations then he'll have a great chance of going on the tour."
