Experienced prop Gavin Kerr insists he still has the hunger and desire to try to force his way into the Scotland team for the upcoming RBS 6 Nations.
The Edinburgh forward has won 50 caps for his country but has had to settle for a place on the bench in the last 18 months.
His club-mate Allan Jacobsen and Northampton star Euan Murray are currently in possession of the positions at loosehead and tighthead in a settled front row alongside another Edinburgh man, hooker Ross Ford.
But the 31-year-old former Leeds prop is still eager to show his worth to Frank Hadden.
Kerr said: “I’m still hungry to play for Scotland, but I just need to get back playing regularly for Edinburgh. I am still keen to play rugby.
“I’m still only 31, so I feel that I’ve got another three or four years left to play at the top-level.”
