Ellis cited for Carter challenge
17 December 2008, 12:21 pm
By Justin Goulding
Leicester's Harry Ellis has been cited for an alleged dangerous tackle on New Zealand's Dan Carter during Sunday's Heineken Cup match against Perpignan.
Fly-half Carter made his debut in the 26-20 win but landed on his head after one challenge.

Match commissioner Iain Goodall cited England scrum-half Ellis for "an alleged dangerous tackle on Perpignan player Dan Carter".

After the game Carter said: "I am very relieved to be injury-free."

Ellis was not punished for the tackle during the game but will face a European Rugby Cup disciplinary committee in Dublin on Friday.

Carter added: "I was very thankful that I wasn't hurt. It was pretty scary up there and I had no control over how I was going to land."
