Simon Taylor has given Frank Hadden food for thought in his forward pack in the upcoming Autumn Internationals.
The former Edinburgh lock has been packing down in the second row for his club Stade Francais.
Taylor ’s move into the engine room has occurred as a result of the outstanding form of Italy captain Sergio Parisse in Taylor ’s usual No. 8 role.
Hadden faces a selection poser in the second row, especially following Scott MacLeod’s unavailability for the three-Test series.
Nathan Hines is a certainty to line up for Scotland but Hadden may consider Taylor alongside him rather than the angular Jim Hamilton.
That would allow Hadden to select three back row players from the wealth of talent he has available in the breakaway unit.
