Scotland centre Nick De Luca has conceded that the European Cup win in Castres has provided a much-needed confidence boost to the Edinburgh squad.
The Dumfries-born star played was a key man in the Edinburgh backline at the Stade Pierre Antoine and he hopes the victory gives Andy Robinson’s side welcome momentum.
De Luca said: “We needed a victory and we got it. That was crucial because it will help to kick-start our season.
“To win a European Cup match in France and become the first team to do so was a great feeling. There was a real feeling of relief shown by the boys afterwards.
“They put us under the cosh and it was good to shut it out and get a victory.”
