Centurion Morrison rues Glasgow loss

Scotland centre Graeme Morrison admits his 100th game for Glasgow was overshawowed by the Warriors defeat in the European Cup.

Morrison, who has established himself as a key member in Frank Hadden's squad, lined up in the backs for Sean Lineen's men against Newport Gwent Dragons determined to mark his landmark match with a victory.

But although Lome Fa'atau opened the scoring for Glasgow in the fifth minute they were never ahead after that moment, as they sought to repeat their 12-6 victory in Newport in the first game of the Celtic League season.

Max Evans crossed for another try just after half time and captain Ally Kellock grabbed a late effort to make the score 32-22 to the Welsh side in the opening round of the European Cup.

Hong Kong-born Morrison said: “It’s a massive honour to reach 100 games for Glasgow in what is my sixth season with the club.

"However, when it lands the day of a defeat in such an important match then it pretty much gets shelved until another time.”
