White continues fitness bid
3 October 2008, 10:51 am
By Justin Goulding
Scotland captain Jason White continued his battle back to full fitness with 40 minutes of Premiership rugby for his club Sale against London Irish.
White, who has struggled for much of the year with various injuries, replaced Sean Cox at half time in the Sharks' match with London Irish at the Madejski Stadium.

The Lions back rower has been working his way back to top form from the Sale bench in recent weeks and Scotland coach

Frank Hadden will hope he is given a full match before the Autumn internationals in November.

Scotland winger Rory Lamont was also on Sale's bench as coach Philipe Saint -Andre shuffled his pack but entered the fray in the 47th minute in place of David Doherty as Irish won 28-6.

Meanwhile Test prop Euan Murray played the full 80 minutes for Northampton alongside former Scotland captain Tom Smith as the Saints lost to Leicester.
