Scotland stand-off Dan Parks insists he thrives on the pressure of taking kicks for club and country.
Sydney-born Parks broke the Celtic League points record last Friday against the Ospreys as his value to his club Glasgow was clearly demonstrated.
He has also been a regular accumulator of points for his adopted country Scotland in a stop-start international career which was begun by Scotland’s former coach Matt Williams, who is now at Ulster.
He said: “Being the guy who takes the kicks isn’t something I thought about as a boy but I did notice that they always seemed to be the guys who scored the most points.
“I must admit I quite enjoy the pressure that goes with it – you are either the hero or the villain in those situations but it’s something I don’t shy away from.”
