Scotland welcome new faces

Scotland head coach Frank Hadden has named seven uncapped players in a bumper 50-man squad for the first training session ahead of the autumn internationals.
Glasgow centre Max Evans, scrum-half Mark McMillan, lock Dan Turner and prop Moray Low join Edinburgh centre Calum MacRae, prop Geoff Cross and Newcastle full-back/fly-half Stephen Jones in linking up ahead of November’s Tests against New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.

The squad, who will train at Murrayfield on Monday, will be looking to impress new coaches Mike Brewer (forwards) and Graham Steadman (defence), who were officially unveiled today following their appointments last month.

Hadden said: “The purpose of this squad session is really two-fold; firstly to debrief following the (June) Argentina tour; and secondly for the players to be introduced to our new two assistant coaches, Mike Brewer and Graham Steadman, ahead of our assembly for the autumn Tests in November.”
