Ibanez sees life after Dallaglio

New Wasps captain Raphael Ibanez has declared that the English domestic holders can still compete without Lawrence Dallaglio.

The talismanic England number-eight retired from professional rugby immediately after lifting the Guinness Premiership trophy last May, capping a remarkable sixteen years at Adams Park.

Yet experienced hooker Ibanez has insisted that the club possess the required talent and desire to repeat last term's success.

"There is life after Lawrence, there has to be. He was a great captain, an inspirational leader. But we have a title to defend and you cannot live in the past," he said.

"I inherit a great legacy from him but I want to bring some of my personality into the role."
