Scotland hooker Ross Ford believes the significant number of Edinburgh players in the national team for the second Test in Argentina helped the tourists level the series.
In addition to regular Test players from Edinburgh such as Ford and Simon Webster, Frank Hadden also drafted the likes of Phil Godman and Ben Cairns into his backline for the match in Buenos Aires - and the selection had the desired effect with an historic victory for Scotland.
With Edinburgh head coach Andy Robinson acting as one of Hadden’s assistants, it was a day to remember for the side from the capital.
Ford, who touched down for a crucial try in the match, said: “The fact that so many of us played with each other every week for Edinburgh helped.
“You knew what everyone was going to do and you were aware of what happens in certain positions.
“For example you knew Godders (Phil Godman) would take it to the line every time and that he is usually going to get the ball to you. It does help in that way and that was quite good for us.”
