Webster hails youth movement

Simon Webster believes Scotland's ability to prosper without several of their experienced players on the tour to Argentina shows they are moving in the right direction.
Frank Hadden's men secured a fine 1-1 series draw with the Pumas earlier this summer despite missing some key men.

Captain Jason White, winger Sean Lamont and lock Nathan Hines were all absent as Scotland fought back to win the second Test.

Utility back Webster said: "The summer tour to Argentina with Scotland was a good experience. Looking back, we felt we should have won the first game; that was disappointing.

"But the second game made up for the errors that we'd racked up the previous week and wrapped up the season in a satisfying manner.

"Everyone was pleased with our performance and we know we can take that forward now and it was just great to able to finish the summer on a high note.

"It is always a good feeling when we win with Scotland. It was a step forward in the right direction for a young team and we managed to cope in the absence of a few seasoned internationals."
