Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen is already looking forward to the derby double over the Christmas period.
The Warriors will take on rivals Edinburgh twice during the festive period and the New Zealand-born coach is excited by the prospect.
In addition to Celtic League points and local pride being up for grabs, the 1872 Cup will also provide an extra incentive for both sets of players during the back-to-back Christmas fixtures.
The Warriors will once again host the deciding leg of the Cup competition, which they claimed back in April.
The former Scotland centre said: “It’s fantastic for Scottish rugby that we’re going to have back-to-back derbies over Christmas and New Year.
“Both games last season were great for the supporters and it was very pleasing that Glasgow came out on top. I hope the Scottish public will come out in force for both games, especially since our season ticket holders get into the home and away legs for free.”
