Wales tickets soon on general sale

Tickets to watch Warren Gatland's Wales take on New Zealand, Australia, Canada and World Champions South Africa in the Invesco Perpetual Series at the Millennium Stadium in November will go on public sale this Friday, 18 July, from 12.00 noon.
The Welsh Rugby Union has already engaged in a successful week of sales to over 6,000 fans after names were collected via a new pre-registration service at wru.co.uk last month.

WRU policy also dictates that debenture holders and each of the 241 member clubs of the Union have first refusal on tickets, but now a selection for all games will be available to all rugby lovers throughout Wales and beyond.

Such an early release of tickets, over three months in advance of the matches, is another first for the WRU and will offer the maximum opportunity for bumper crowds to watch the visiting All Blacks, Springboks, Wallabies and Canucks, with a large percentage already sold through traditional routes.

Price categories include £40, £50, £55 and £60 for the SANZAR games - although fans are advised that the New Zealand game in particular has only a small amount of tickets remaining and will therefore carry a limit of four tickets per person.

Canada's Friday night visit to the Millennium Stadium has been specifically designed to appeal to the family market - a family of four is able to attend for as little as £50, with prices ranging from £25, £15 and £10 concession for that game.

"We have given ourselves every chance of achieving record crowds for this series," said WRU head of compliance Julie Paterson.

"Matches don't come any bigger than the World Champions coming to town, especially so soon after we toured South Africa ourselves and now fans have the opportunity to see how Wales can fare on home soil.

"The All Blacks never fail to make an impact and ticket sales for that game are superseding the others.

"It seems that despite losing to the World Champions last weekend the opportunity to watch Graham Henry's men return to the site of their shock World Cup exit to France last year to take on the European Champions is still a huge draw.

"The series climaxes with the visit of Australia who proved to be a Southern Hemisphere scalp in the waiting for Wales during our last Grand Slam year, when we held out for an historic 24-22 victory in 2005.

"The Canada game comes in the middle of the series on a Friday night and is priced specifically to attract a young and family audience with tickets available for as little as £10."

Tickets can be purchased via the WRU ticket hotline 08705 582 582, online at www.wru.co.uk, from the Ticketline number 02920 230130 and to personal callers at the Ticketline shop on Westgate Street, Cardiff from 12 noon on Friday.
