Scotland prop Allan Jacobsen insists no complacency will enter his game despite homing in on his double century of appearances for Edinburgh.
The Test forward has been a cornerstone of the Edinburgh pack for the past five seasons having been with his hometown club for a decade - and is intent on improving further in the coming season.
He is also eager to part of Frank Hadden's Scotland plans having featured in the historic victory over Argentina in June.
The loosehead prop is determined to play a significant part in the Autumn Test series as well as next year's RBS 6 Nations.
Jacobsen said: “Reaching my 200th appearance is definitely there at the back of my mind, but at the end of the day it is just a number.
“If it does happen then it will be a big thing for me and my family and I’ll be happy.
“The way I’m looking at it now there are lots of hungry young guys coming through, so I’ve got to be even more on my toes. All I think about is training hard and playing well, there is no point thinking about much else.
“If you don’t train hard and you don’t play well then you don’t deserve to play; if you can do both things then you will be in with a shout.”
