Tomas O'Leary
Rouge-Thomas hopes O'Leary starts
21 May 2008, 3:13 pm
By Tim Sanderson
Toulouse assistant coach Philippe Rouge-Thomas is hoping Munster will start with Tomas O'Leary at scrum-half in Saturday's European Cup final as they believe it could be to their advantage.
O'Leary was selected ahead of Ireland international Peter Stringer for the quarter and semi-finals, but Munster coach Declan Kidney could give the 82-times capped Stringer a starting berth against the French club in Cardiff.

"It is a big mistake to focus on one player, but Ronan O'Gara, particularly, is a big influence for Munster," said backs coach Rouge-Thomas to The Irish Independent.

"Tomas O'Leary distributes the ball a lot less than Stringer, he is very powerful in contact, but they have reduced effectiveness because O'Gara gets less of the ball."
