Sweeney signs for Blues

Welsh stand-off Ceri Sweeney has signed for the Cardiff Blues on a two-year deal from Newport-Gwent Dragons.

Sweeney was also targeted by Bristol but has decided to make the move to the Arms Park outfit after winning 35 caps.

Cardiff already have Nicky Robinson and young Dai Flanagan, who has signed a contract extension, to cover the number ten position but Sweeney can also play at inside-centre.

Former Blues hooker Duane Goodfield has moved the other way, having signed a two-year deal with the Dragons.
