Simon Cross hopes to celebrate the signing of a new deal by helping Edinburgh to clinch the 1872 Challenge Cup.
Andy Robinson's side meet Glasgow Warriors at Firhill on Friday night with one hand on the trophy having won the first match earlier this season.
The two sides meet in the league in a match which will also decide the destination of this year's 1872 Challenge Cup.
Cross signed his fourth contract with Edinburgh earlier in the week and is delighted to maintain his links with the club.
He told Edinburgh's website: "It would be great if i could mark the occasion of signing my deal by helping Edinburgh win the Cup.
"At the beginning of the year, there were people expecting us to lose every game and finish at the bottom of the table.
"We have worked really hard to change everyone's perceptions of what Edinburgh stands for and we realise there is still plenty of work needed in order for this club to get where they need to be."
