Scarlets coach Phil Davies has made five changes to the side which lost to Leinster as they look to get back to winning ways in the Celtic League.
Ceiron Thomas comes in at full-back for the clash against the Cardiff Blues, with Jonathan Davies at centre.
Dwayne Peel continues as captain while front rowers Iestyn Thomas and Matthew Rees and lock Vernon Cooper all start.
Morgan Stoddard and Simon Easterby drop to the bench but centre Gavin Evans is out with a hip injury.
The Scarlets recently beat the Blues 35-17 at Stradey Park just last month but Davies said their upcoming clash will be a slightly different prospect.
"It was a good game," explained Davies. "We played well but to be fair to them they had a massive quarter-final on their minds when they came here and this week will be a different game.
"We know we've got a tough game on our hands. I expect the Blues to be firing and wanting to get a win themselves.
"The Arms Park is a great ground, with huge traditions and lots of fantastic games have been fought out there and I think this Friday's game will be hopefully no different.
"It'll be high quality, high intensity with some fantastic talent on show."
