It was an excellent match against Wales, which was also intense physically. Both sides were rather even. Both sides were rather even. The French were very much into the game for one hour, and at the end of the day, I think Wales really deserve their victory and their Grand Slam.
They were well organised in defence and things did not quite worked that well for us. However, for the young French players, this encounter has certainly been beneficial because the game they played and the atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium were of a very high level.
Overall, as I have already said, Wales won the Grand Slam and they deserved it. They managed to improve match by match, with Shane Williams finishing the competition with a total of six tries.
As far as the French team is concerned, the players have showed a great enthusiasm and motivation to do well. As a whole they have played rather well considering there was a new coaching staff, a large set of newcomers and a new game tactics. A team cannot be perfect in such a short period of time.
The coaches have also had the opportunity to test more than 30 players, and that is going to prove very useful for future games.
This RBS 6 Nations was there for the French Team to try to adapt to a new situation. The team is still in a building process after the last World Cup and that's why I think that overall we have done pretty well.
