My first reaction was positive and a little bit of relief to see Italy pushing the French at the Stade de France in the last 20 minutes.
We played a lot better than the second half in Cardiff a fortnight ago and I don't think France were actually irresistible, but in the second half I felt few of our players hadn’t tackled at their best
Our kicking attack has improved. We need to adjust our tactics in attack that would be a good basis to start from. I personally believe when we are near the last 22 metre we are playing the ball too quick and flat, instead of running from deep in the centre. But I’m sure Nick Mallet will improve it. It's a new side with a new coach and they need time.
It was positive on Sunday, but our weakness lies when we are close to score tries, and now is the second time that Gonzalo Canale spilled the ball - this time after a superb break down the touchline by Leonardo Ghiraldini.
It's a good basis for Mallett to focus on and also Andrea Marcato improved his kicking keeping the 100% record and that's was what Mallett and his staff were working on and it was perfect on Sunday.
France were good in some situations and bad in others, but also we really put them in difficulty in some moments and we wasted a good chance near the end after get a lineout on the five-metre line.
But our attitude and approach to the game was great and if we believe in ourselves right until the end like they did against the French it is going to be very hard for the Scottish, even after their exploits against England.
I know they'll come with a smile in they face after Saturday’s victory against the World Cup runners-up.
We know we're a young team, with few injuries and suspended players, but they are coming to the Stadio Flaminio and it will not be easy go back to Scotland with a win.
If we try hard with determination and put as much pressure on them as possible and take all our chances then maybe we can pull off a win, but if we make mistakes - even the smallest ones - it could fatal. So to win this game we can’t afford to make mistakes.
